Cartagena leverages its potential to boost business and leisure tourism

In recent years, the trend of Bleisure tourism, which is about combining business with leisure, has strengthened. It is said that people now want to maximize the time they have at the event to discover new destinations.

This segment is supported by a complementary offer in which gastronomy, culture and entertainment are highlighted. This makes it easier for attendees to have a wide variety of activities and experiences to add to their meeting or corporate event programs, we could be talking about a business trip with a touch of relaxation and fun taking advantage of the space where the person is for work purposes, one of the destinations that has been most popular has been Cartagena.

"Our proximity to the Historic Center, pool complex, direct access to the beach, restaurant and bars, meeting rooms, executive lounge, children's playroom, and large inventory of queen rooms, are some of the reasons why guests can have a leisure experience while traveling for work, events or family," says Jairo Manzur, director of sales and marketing for Hilton Cartagena.

This type of hotels that offer everything in one place are the most chosen by travelers. According to the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), Cartagena has positioned itself as one of the places in Latin America with the greatest potential for meeting tourism (27% of the country's total international events are held here and 33% of the attendees are foreigners). It also has four convention centers and nearly 80 meeting rooms for events.

"Our hotel has the infrastructure to offer several plans in the same place. We have an integrated convention center, which receives up to 2,300 people in an auditorium, spaces for outdoor events, and facilities for groups from the personalized service of our team members," says Manzur.
